There is a desperate need for more affordable homes in West Cheshire
The local area needs more homes than we are currently building. The council estimate that 7,000 new homes are needed over the next 10 years just to keep up with demand
There is a significant shortage of affordable housing in the borough of West Cheshire and Chester, with only 30% being delivered each year.
Local people are being priced out of the area. House prices have risen by 15%, outpacing the national average and the average monthly rent is now £850
Over 6,500 people are on the housing waiting list, with over 25% of applicants either having ‘urgent’ or ‘high’ housing needs.

MCI Developments is looking to build 120 much needed new affordable homes in Moulton, Cheshire.
Unlike most new developments, all 120 proposed new homes will be affordable, including shared ownership and affordable rent to provide local people the opportunity to stay in the area.
The homes will range in size from 1-bedroom to 4-bedrooms to suit a wide range of housing needs from those looking to find their first home, to families looking for more space to grow into.
MCI Developments are also proposing to provide a range of community benefits including public green spaces, a new road into the site, new hedges and landscaping.
The site
The proposed development site is located off Niddries Lane at the southern end of Moulton.
The site comprises a field that is currently enclosed by previous residential development on two sides and can be reached through a footpath off Niddries Lane.
From the site, the A533 is within a short distance and both Northwich and Winsford can be reached by car in 10 minutes or less.
There is also good public transport connections from the site, with the nearest bus stop less than a five minute walk from the proposed site entrance.
