NEW RETAIL AND SPORTS HUB FOR NORTH ACTON

Learn more about our plans to bring a new sports and retail hub to North Acton Road, featuring 12 pickleball and padel courts to rent.

Running Racquet has plans to repurpose Dooa House, a vacant site on North Acton Road, as a new HQ for their e-commerce business. The site will be used for storage, distribution and light industrial use with a supporting new sports and retail hub.

It will feature 12 pickleball and padel courts to rent, fully equipped with changing rooms, restroom facilities, and a breakout café area.

With only 270 pickleball courts currently in the UK and under 30 indoor padel courts accessible by London Underground, we’re proud to expand access to this fast-growing sport.

Join us on our journey to increase access to racquet sports and provide new opportunities for the community.

Our plans

Pickleball is booming, growing by over 20% last year, making it one of the fastest growing and most popular sports today.

Our mission is to expand this sport into the UK, bridging the gap with the US and Europe, where it is already thriving.

The vision:

Our new facility will house:

  • Storage and distribution space to support our online retail store
  • Customisable racquet manufacturing area, letting customers personalise their pickleball gear
  • 12 new pickleball and padel courts with full amenities, including changing rooms, restrooms and a café

The site

The site is situated on North Acton Road, adjacent to Wesley Playing Fields. This space has been vacant for 4 years, making it an ideal site to revitalise for the local community.

We hope to make it the London HQ for an exciting new e-commerce platform for Running Racquet. It will also be used for sample and prototype production and product personalisation, allowing customers to personalise their racquet gear.
